Upper Merion School Board Supervisor

Tina Garzillo

As a dedicated member of our community, I have been honored to serve on the Upper Merion Board of Supervisors since 2018, and I am excited to announce my candidacy to run once again. In 2022, I became Vice-Chairperson and have now served as Chairperson since 2023. I also serve on numerous boards and committees within the Township to assist with guiding a solid future. This leadership role has showcased my strengths honed from many years as a small business owner, always with an emphasis on long range strategic planning. We have successfully navigated unprecedented challenges, such as the Pandemic and economic shifts. Protecting economic stability and safety in our community remains paramount, and I will continue to work to make Upper Merion a great place for everyone, no matter their background, a great place to live, work, and raise our families.

Thank you for putting your trust in me. Let’s keep moving forward together!

Upper Merion Tax Collector
Evelyn Ankers

Evelyn Ankers has lived in the township for almost 20 years and is currently the Tax Collector in Upper Merion after a historic write-in campaign in 2021 which resulted in her being the first ever Democrat elected as Tax Collector in the Township.

Evelyn has a bachelor’s degree in Financial Services and a paralegal certification. She also currently holds the designation of Certified Pennsylvania Tax Collector and is an officer in the Montgomery County Tax Collectors Association.

As Tax Collector, Evelyn is currently responsible for collecting county, township and school taxes from approximately 11,000 parcels. Evelyn has also kept her original campaign promises by modernizing the tax office, including creating a website, allowing people to pay by credit card and having in person office hours available again to taxpayers.

Evelyn spends her free time with her son, as well as playing soccer and being frustrated by Philadelphia sports teams.

Candidate for Upper Merion Township Auditor
Rhonda Cohen

My name is Rhonda Cohen, and I am running for Upper Merion Township Auditor. I am a 33-year resident of Upper Merion.  I have currently served this position for one six-year term and am running again.

I have a BA in Communications from the University of Denver and a Masters in Social Work in Community Organization from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work.

I was the former Administrator of Community Relations for the Non-Profit organization, Tikvah AJMI working with adults living with mental illness.  I currently am a travel agent as well as a tour director for a local travel company.  Previously, I served on the Upper Merion Economic and Community Development Committee as a volunteer.

I have enjoyed my time working within the political system of Upper Merion and am delighted to be part of the community.

Candidate for Bridgeport Mayor
Tony Heyl

Tony Heyl is the Vice President of Bridgeport Borough Council, where he has served since he was first elected in 2013. During his time on Council, Tony has led initiatives that include bringing recycling to the Borough, passing a non-discrimination ordinance, helping neighbors after major disasters, creating new events, and approving housing and business development. He lives in town with his wife Karyn and sons Andrew and AJ. As Mayor, Tony Heyl will advocate for all residents and improve public safety.

Candidate for Bridgeport Council Ward 1
Heather Cosenza

I have spent my entire life as a proud Bridgeport resident.  I went to school at Bridgeport elementary, attended the Bridgeport park and rec program, played on the little league teams, and spent my weekends watching the Bridgeport Dragons.  I then chose to raised my family here as a single parent, knowing that this would be my own village.

I have watched our town grow and been active participant in positive change. I have advocated for the people of Bridgeport for years, especially the children. I believe in speaking up and offering support for those who need it.  I want to do more. I want to help the community that has helped me so much.   When our community needed it the most, our residents and local businesses renewed my love of our borough.  I am a neighbor, a friend and an ally.  I would be honored to represent Bridgeport as a council woman so that I can continue to be a strong needed voice for our community.

Bridgeport Council Ward 2

Meghan Nolan

Meghan has served on Bridgeport borough council since first being appointed to a vacancy in September 2018. In her time on council, she has focused on ensuring that sustainability is incorporated into borough practices and projects.

She hosts the annual spring and fall cleanup days, assists with the organization of the Bridgeport carnival and 5k, volunteers with community events, and serves as the council liaison to the Bridgeport Community Fund Park Board. Meghan takes her fiduciary responsibility to the borough seriously and is proud to be part of a team that has not raised taxes in 16 years.
Meghan is a Senior Test Development Analyst working on United States Medical Licensing Examination.

She lives with her husband, Jared, and their motley crew of cats.

Candidate for Bridgeport Council Ward 3
Laura Gamble

Throughout my adult life I’ve always sought ways to serve the communities I call home; whether serving on the planning commission in West Conshy or the design review board in Norristown; from designing affordable homes for Habitat for Humanity throughout Montgomery County (including six homes in Bridgeport), and lovingly donating food every week to our little pantry here in Bridgeport.

For seven years we’ve called Bridgeport home and I care deeply about our community. Bridgeport is neighborly, vibrant and resilient, and I want to help the residents and businesses to flourish even more.

As an architect, I will bring a unique perspective on planning and a wealth of development knowledge to Council.

As a senior project manager, I bring a host of managerial skills to the position, both fiscal and personnel related.

And as a caring human being, I bring concern and compassion. I value the personal connections with neighbors and friends, and the genuine sense of shared community that make Bridgeport special.

I’m excited to run for Bridgeport’s Ward 3.

Candidate for Bridgeport Tax Collector
Roseanne Socolowski

I was born and raised in lower Bucks County and later moved to Montgomery County, where I  adopted two children and moved to Bridgeport, the town where I chose to raise my family and have lived for more than 24 years. The community is unique- its location is close to major cities and all sorts of amenities and the people of Bridgeport are diverse, friendly, and neighborly—it has a small town feeling but is mighty, lively and growing.

I am a graduate of the American University, in Washington DC with a Computer Science Degree.

I have spent most of my professional career as an Information Technologist working with Banking, Financial and Clinical Software in Large Corporations (programming & analytics)

I proudly worked as a Federal Employee for the Department of Treasury while in DC

I am a Bridgeport Democratic Committee person.

Why be a Tax Collector?

We need taxes to fund Bridgeport’s local government.  Someone needs to collect, tally, and post the monies. I have spent most of my life doing software development/support, analytics, spreadsheets, reports and math, exactly what Tax Collectors do.  My goal would be to make the process of collecting taxes for Bridgeport more efficient and transparent, better software, easy to pay, easy to get a history of taxes, and better processes.  I would like to serve Bridgeport residence, and be a part of the government that is by the people and for the people (Bridgeport Residents).

Mayor
Danelle Fournier

I’m thrilled to announce my candidacy for another term as Mayor of West Conshohocken. Our community is exceptional because of the people who live here. I’ve been honored to serve you, and I’m inspired by the spirit and dedication of our residents.

Some of the highlights we have seen in our community since I became mayor in 2020:

  • Improved communication and transparency through social media, a newsletter and the code red alert system.
  • Revamped Police Department through measured analytics. Our Police Chief and Officers are committed to safety and community policing through modern technology and up to date training.
  • Brought new events to the Borough such as clean up days, Coffee with a Cop, blood drives, fireworks, ice cream party and West Conshy 5K, while keeping our treasured traditions and especially honoring our Veterans with Hometown Hero’s banners.
  • My time serving as mayor coincided with several significant anniversaries. It was important to honor our history of the gas explosion with a 50th memorial service. It was a joy to celebrate West Conshohocken’s Sesquicentennial with a yearlong party including a local history lesson, a Memorial Day Parade and a Dinner Celebration.
  • Together we have built upon our rich 150-year history, and I’m eager to continue the progress we’ve made.  I am committed to strengthening our community bonds and ensuring West Conshy remains a place we’re all proud to call home.

Council at Large
Stephen Blumenthal

Steve Blumenthal has been a dedicated member of the West Conshohocken Borough Council since 2020 and was unanimously elected Council President in July 2022. Under his leadership, the Borough initiated a comprehensive, four-phase, five-year renovation program for MacKenzie Park. This ambitious project has secured substantial external funding, including a $500,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Local Share Account program and a $250,000 grant through the Marcellus Legacy Fund, minimizing the financial burden on local taxpayers.

Additionally, Steve has collaborated with the Mayor and other key stakeholders to modernize the police department, improve parking infrastructure, and enhance overall borough operations, reflecting his commitment to community safety and efficiency. These efforts have contributed to record-low crime rates, positioning West Conshohocken as a safe and thriving community.

Professionally, Steve serves as the Chief Marketing Officer at a financial services firm, bringing strategic vision and innovative approaches to his role. Raised in a middle-class family of educators, healthcare providers, and police officers, and having been an educator himself, Steve understands the importance of community support in achieving personal and collective success. These values have guided his commitment to fostering community engagement, enhancing public services, and ensuring sustainable development in West Conshohocken. As Steve seeks re-election, his vision for the future remains rooted in collaboration, transparency, and a steadfast commitment to the well-being of all residents.
